Kinect Therapy began with a simple question:
Why does recovery feel so complicated?
For many people, physiotherapy has become a frustrating cycle: rushed appointments, beeping machines, long exercise printouts, and short-term results. It’s easy to feel like just another number. But healing is personal—and we believed there had to be a better way.
So we started small. No clinic. No front desk. Just one physiotherapist, a portable treatment bed, and a truck full of recovery tools—driving directly into clients’ homes.
At first, it was just a way to avoid paying rent while working full-time across the border at a physiotherapy centre in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. But it quickly became clear: this is where therapy made sense.
We weren’t just treating injuries—we were listening. Watching how people moved in real life. Hearing what frustrated them about their recovery. And that shaped everything that came next.
Most clinics are built around systems.
Kinect Therapy was built around people.
From day one, we’ve focused on:
We realized that people weren’t failing rehab because they didn’t care—they were failing because the system wasn’t designed with them in mind.
So we flipped the script.
We replaced cookie-cutter programs with custom strategies.
That’s who we’re here for. We simplified rehab into something people could feel working.
And we treat every client like an athlete—whether they were recovering from surgery or clearing snow in their driveway.
One of the biggest shifts in our philosophy came from an unexpected place: the feet.
Through real-world experience, we started seeing the patterns:
Poor foot mechanics were contributing to knee, hip, back—even shoulder pain.
That’s when we developed our “foot-first” approach—assessing how the body stacks and moves from the ground up. By restoring proper foot alignment and function, we helped unlock better movement throughout the entire chain.
This changed everything.
It helped us understand:
Today, our foot-first lens continues to drive our assessments, treatments, and exercise planning. Simply because—it works.
Our goal is to make recovery simple, actionable, and effective. That’s why we focus on:
Many of our clients already have TENS machines or home ultrasound units. What they often don’t have is someone to explain how their body actually moves—and how to support it through recovery.
That’s where we come in.
Whether you visit us in clinic or we come to your home, every session is tailored, intentional, and centred around your goals.
We’ve built our clinic model around making care more accessible:
Our philosophy isn’t just shaped by education—it’s shaped by our own pain.
Many of us at Kinect have experienced repetitive strain from years in healthcare: hand pain, back fatigue, burnout. That pushed us to ask better questions and work smarter, not harder. We didn’t want to burn out by 50—and we don’t want our clients burning out either.
That’s why our team includes:
Their expertise expands our reach without compromising our values.
We continue to grow—but we remain deeply rooted in our hands-on, movement-based, foot-first philosophy.
Even our logo reflects that mindset:
A stylized ‘K’ in motion—because recovery is rooted in movement.
We believe in:
Our goal is to help you move better, live stronger, and stay active—on your terms.
We’re Here to Ask Better Questions.
If you’re curious about that too, we’d love to meet you!
